Since I always see people asking what fruit they can and can’t eat, I thought I would share a list so people know. These fruits are considered healthy and safe in small portions. The bulk of an adult bearded dragon’s diet should be vegetables so don’t overdue it on fruit!
Apples
Apricot
Blackberries
Blueberries
Cactus Fruit
Chayote
Cherries
Cranberries
Figs
Grapes
Guava
Mangos
Melons
Nectarine
Papayas
Peaches
Pears
Pineapple
Plum
Prunes
Raisins
Strawberries
Watermelon
Fruit you want to avoid are citrus fruits, tomatoes, and avocados.
I never knew that you shouldn't feed dragon fruits citrus fruits! I have two myself and have given them oranges in the past but only a few times. I don't like oranges myself or really any citrus fruit so I don't keep it in the house anyways. Glad I know better now.

@alysa.bartoletti How do you feed a dragon fruit another fruit!? LOL I know you mean to just but dragons and not fruits but it read so funny. The reason is because they are very high in acid and it can cause them to develop mouth sores and cause skin issues.
My dragon actually got into my guacamole earlier today. I let him out to stretch his legs and exercise and didn't realize he could get on the coffee table. He didn't eat much. I see that your list says not to feed them avocados. Will he be okay?
This is a great list and offers a lot of variety. Once you find things they like, just stick to the same things and rotate them every day to keep them interested. You don't need to always buy them new food.
This is pretty helpful! I was not sure what fruits would best for a dragon. I was thinking that I would just get 3 or 4 different ones and be stuck with those but since I have more options, I can make the diet more fun.
I would have never even though to give one a tomato. I am shocked people try but I guess because it is a fruit, some people do so you have to warn them not to do it.

@amelia You would be surprised what people think they can feed their reptiles when they know they eat fruits or vegetables. I think people think of them like dogs and try to share food with them as much as possible.
I think berries are probably the best options since they are lowest in sugar. I know that because my doc told me I need to stick to things like berries and kiwi fruit since both are lower in sugar than other fruits.
My dragons absolutely love cherries.
There's a few things on this list I haven't tried yet so I'll read about them and see what the dragons think.
What's wrong with tomatoes or avocados?
I assume they are poisonous, I'm just wondering what's in them that makes it so.
